REWARDS1 WORKS!!!

You joined Rewards1...now what? At first, like with all things new and free, the whole idea of doing "surveys" in order to get free "prizes" seems kind of dubious at best. The first thing to understand is this: if you dont want it, don't buy it. Most of the offers you are going to see are tempting ( I have accepted one or two "trial" offers...) and the rest get you thinking that you might start getting annoying telemarketer/scam calls at dinner and church.

This little introduction is going to solve one or two hurdles you may be faced with before continuing with R1, hopefully pinning a few doubts to the wall, as it were. The truth is you don't have to buy anything from anyone doing this...EVER. It's mostly clik-thru advertising and promo offers for goods and services, but they need someone to look at it - enter Rewards1 & You. You are getting rewards for clikking thru the din that is their advertising, answering their survey questionaires, and getting endless amounts of newsletters and more in your e-mail. You get credit for offers by spending enough time on an advertisers site, signing up for an e-newsletter, or (at the very least) pretending to have a "genuine" interest in a vendor's products. You don't have to purchase anything from any of these offers - you're just passing through the advertisers sites to eventually tell the vendor "nevermind, not interested".

Below is a simple guide to get even the noobiest a chance at getting rewards. Most of this, to those familiar with the process, is a pretty basic "survival" checklist for completing offers without putting yourself out there too much. To the unfamiliar...pay attention class...and take notes :P

Signing Up:

You did remember to do this right? If you haven't yet, here ya go (don't worry, I'll wait). First thing to remember BEFORE signing up is to use a primary e-mail account for R1 and NOT the spam account(s) you will be using to complete offers. Fill out the information they ask for - BE HONEST or you will not be able to claim many rewards from them! After having received a few rewards from them already, I can attest to their honesty!!

Completing Offers:

1.) First things first...get some spam accounts, you'll need em! Every offer you encounter is gonna want an e-mail address, and most offers have a way of keeping track of the e-mails you use on them, so the actual prep time in getting a good start goes into creating additional "spam" or "disposable" addresses. Yahoo, Hotmail, GMail, and the like are all good and are recognized by virtually every offer sponsor, but occasionally you can fool the sponsors using a disposable e-mail service. 10-MinuteMail, GuerrillaMail, and Mailinator have all worked for me on RANDOM offers, but are not entirely foolproof - many sponsors have security checks tailored to sniff out these sorts of things. Pat yourself on the back if you get one or two past 'em! Personally, I do a little dance LOL

If you are using Firefox, i recommend using Sxipper, as it stores all of your bunko e-mail addresses for easy access when filling offer fields. Roboform comes highly recommended by many users, and has since been forbidden from use by Rewards1 admins, though it does provide nifty options for completeing offers a little faster - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! -

2.) CLEAR THEM COOKIES!!! Can't stress this enough as it's probably the biggest reason people don't get credit for completing offers. For Internet Explorer users, simply open your browser, and in the title bar click Tools-> Internet Options ; Firefox users click tools and choose either Options-> Show Cookies-> Clear all Cookies, OR choose Clear Private Data and make sure the "Cookies" box is checked-> click OK. A quik step-by-step to make sure you start every offer with a clean slate:

-> Open your Browser
-> goto Rewards1 site (do not log in yet)
-> Clear your cookies!!
-> Log in to Rewards1
-> Open Offers in a new tab/page and find the offer you want
-> After completing an offer, clear cookies again (some offers credit before you clear cookies, some after, and some won't credit you at all if you cleared cookies before getting credit...it's really hit 'n miss until I get more reliable info)

You gotta be pretty "green" to need more help than that, but this basic approach will make sure you have no other tracking data on your computer BEFORE you start an offer. I will be following up this post with a How-To on what to do when completing an offer very soon, but this small step-by-step should get the feet wet enough to get you on your way to earning free schwag from REWARDS1!!!
